The Anzar softball team continues to own its Coastal Athletic League competition, as the Hawks took two more games this week when it defeated York 18-10 and Calvary Christian 18-2.
Tuesday's eight-run victory over York saw several Hawks pound out multiple hits, including Tiffany Maielua (two singles and a double), Jennifer Gross (two singles and two RBI), Nicole Mello (two doubles and two RBI), Averi Pavese (two singles, RBI) and Stacie Rowe (two singles, RBI).
The trend continued on Thursday against Calvary, when Nicole Mello and Erin Deleissegues led the pack, each with one double, two singles and three RBI. Heather Flores, meanwhile, connected on a RBI single to deep center and also played strong defense at second base.
The Anzar infield as a whole, led by Jennifer Gross at shortstop, disabled the Calvary offense whenever it threatened and the Hawks' outfield dispatched any fly balls in quick order.
Anzar (6-1 CAL) will have a bye on Wednesday before it plays at Greenfield next Friday in the season finale.
