Since Sen. Don Perata has withdrawn his recall of Senator Jeff Denham, Perata should be accountable for paying the taxpayer expense incurred for placing this frivolous item on the June ballot to promote his own political future. Carl Chase, Hollister
Jones provides comic relief in letters Dear Editor,
I want to thank Marvin Jones for providing us some comic relief with his letters blaming Democrats for high gas prices and endless wars. It reminds me of what Republicans said would happen if we voted for Al Gore - the economy would be in shambles and our foreign policy would be a disaster.
It's too bad they were right about it, though. We did vote for Al Gore, and both the economy and our foreign policy are in ruins. I only wish the Supreme Court wasn't packed with jokers who shared Marvin's peculiar sense of humor. Paul Hartnett, Hollister
