The number of San Benito County properties in foreclosure has decreased by more than 30 percent since the same period last year, according to figures released today by RealtyTrac.

The numbers released today by the Irvine-based company show that San Benito County had 137 properties in foreclosure in November. That represents a 33 percent decrease when compared with November 2008 and a 9 percent decrease from the prior month, according to the figures.

It also places San Benito County as having the 13th worst per capita foreclosure rate in the state. The county has ranked as low as second worst on that list.

The state as a whole, meanwhile, saw a decrease of 13 percent when compared with a year ago, but an increase of 22 percent over October of this year.
