Council appointments made for COG, other panels

HOLLISTER

The Hollister City Council has ratified appointments to various intergovernmental committees, as recommended by Mayor Eugenia Sanchez, such as the Council of San Benito County Governments and the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments.

They include the following:

Council members Victor Gomez and Doug Emerson will sit on the COG board, with Sanchez as the alternate.

Gomez and Sanchez will sit on the Inter-Governmental Relations Committee, with Councilman Ray Friend as the alternate.

Friend will sit on the AMBAG board, with Gomez as the alternate.

Friend will sit on the California Council of Criminal Justice board.

Friend will sit on the Comprehensive Economic Development Committee.

Sanchez and Emerson will sit on the Governance Committee, with Gomez as the alternate.

Sanchez will sit on the Water Resources Association board, with Councilwoman Pauline Valdivia as the alternate and City Manager Clint Quilter as the staff representative.

Valdivia will sit on the Pajaro Valley Watershed Flood Prevention Authority board, with Quilter as the staff representative.

Friend and Valdivia will sit on the Solid Waste Committee.

Sanchez and Emerson will sit on the Economic Development Ad Hoc Committee.

Sanchez will act as the YMCA representative.

Friend and Valdivia will sit on the San Benito County Local Solid Waste Task Force.

Friend will sit on the Fire Task Force.

Sanchez and Valdivia are seated on the Housing Element Ad Hoc Committee.

Gomez and Friend will sit on the Revenue Subcommittee.

Emerson will sit on the RDA Revolving Loan Fund Board.

Sanchez will sit on the Gang Coordinator Policy Committee.

Valdivia's term on the Local Agency Formation Commission, or LAFCO, runs through 2009, while Emerson still is listed as the alternate and the council is set to appoint a second member Jan. 8, according to the list provided by the city clerk's office.
