Police blotter: Officers catch homeless man prying license plate

Tampering with vehicle, San Benito Street
Police on Thursday report they found a 33-year-old transient man from Hollister pulling a license plate off a truck in the 300 block of San Benito Street. Upon leaving the scene, a witness and the victim followed the suspect until police arrived.
Threatening, Valley View Road
Police were called to the 1500 block of Valley View Road at 10:20 p.m. Thursday to a male suspect from Hollister threatening a female victim holding a kitchen knife, chasing the female around the house in front of the children. Police allege the suspect then pulled the phone off the wall, preventing victim from calling police, and that the suspect gave a fake name and was also found to have an outstanding warrant.
Stolen Car, Monterey Street
Police pulled over a car for vehicle violations at 2 a.m. Oct. 10 at Browns Alley and Monterey Street. Two Salinas juveniles were found in the stolen car, which had been stolen from Los Banos.
