The City of Hollister and San Benito County Planning departments will be holding a public workshop on housing in order to develop policies and programs. Through the public input, this workshop will help revise housing needs in the city and county. It will be held at the Veterans Memorial Building on Oct. 25 at 9:30 a.m. in Room 204. The workshop will also feature information from various city and county support agencies.
"We're excited about partnering with the county ... this program can provide great things," said City of Hollister planning manager, Mary Paxton.
Paxton equated this to having a physical at the doctor, in that this workshop will allow both planning departments to step back and diagnose housing problems and concerns.
"We really want to hear from the county ... without (input), we can't meet their needs."
Refreshments will be available at 9 a.m. until the workshop begins at 9:30 a.m. A Spanish translation will also be available.
