Robert Thysell, a 40-year-old Hollister resident, pleaded guilty to charges of sexual exploitation of a child and annoying or molesting a child in San Louis Obispo Superior Court on June 10.
San Louis Obispo County District Attorney Andy Cadena dropped two other charges of committing a lewd act upon a child and possession of drug paraphernalia in exchange for Thysell's guilty plea.
Cadena did not immediately return a phone call for comment Monday.
Grover Beach Police arrested Thysell on April 21 in Hollister after a 7-year-old girl told authorities the man has traveled to Grover Beach and molested her several times from 2005 to 2007. When police searched Thysell's house, they said they found pornographic photographs of the girl along with a methamphetamine pipe.
Thysell will be back in court July 8 where he will be sentenced for his crimes.
