The Lomantos celebrate 72 years
Peter and Carmen Lomanto of Hollister recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. They were married Sept. 26, 1936 in San Francisco. Both Peter and Carmen are 91 years old and lifelong residents of Hollister.

Rachel Nin, graduate of Ann Sobrato High School, has been awarded a Paschal Carter scholarship at Denison University. The Pascal Carter Scholarship approximates full tuition and is competition based and open only to National Merit semi-finalists. Denison University, founded in 1831, is an independent, residential liberal arts institution located in Granville, Ohio.

Spangler/VanderHyde
Tami Spangler and Ryan VanderHyde are engaged to be married.
Tami, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Spangler, is a 2006 graduate of Gilroy High School. She is a nursing student at Fresno City College and currently works as a manager at No Fear.
Ryan, son of Jeffrey VanderHyde and Terri VanderHyde, is a 2003 graduate of San Benito High School. He has a degree in fire technology from Cabrillo College and is a Cal Fire firefighter.
The wedding will take place Dec. 7, 2008 at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Gilroy. The couple will reside in Fresno.
